Finance & Operations Manager
About Sellforte
Sellforte is a Finnish SaaS company helping retail and ecommerce brands make smarter, data-driven marketing decisions. Our platform combines Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), incrementality testing, and attribution correction in one always-on solution, so marketing teams can see what truly drives incremental revenue, not just what ad platforms claim credit for. (Learn more about our product here, and see a demo here.)
Founded in 2017 on the Aalto University campus in Espoo, Finland, Sellforte has grown across Europe and is now expanding into the US. Our team of ~50 professionals blends data science, software engineering, and marketing analytics expertise to serve customers across several countries.
A broad range of the work that keeps the company running — finance, legal, HR, governance, and operations — currently sits with one or two people. We're hiring a Finance & Operations Manager to share it and grow into it.
The role
We'd rather be upfront about the breadth of this role than oversell a tidy job description. Many of these areas aren't full-time tasks on their own — together they're what two people handle today — so we're looking for a generalist who can turn their hand across them. A specialism is still useful, and later, as we grow, some of these areas may become functions of their own.
In a typical month you might review a customer contract, prepare a board meeting, process payroll, invoice customers, pull together a reporting pack, draft an employment agreement, handle a tax deadline, and resolve an operational question that doesn't fit neatly anywhere else.
You'll work alongside our Director of Finance & Operations, Antti Heliste, and our COO, Lauri Potka, sharing this work directly. The amout of work has grown with the company, and we've kept pace largely by automating what we can — but we've reached the point where we need more hands. You'll start by supporting across these areas, learning the ones you're newer to, and progressively taking ownership of others.
The role flexes, and so can the arrangement: seniority is flexible (quite junior is fine), and you can work full-time, part-time, or alongside your studies. Tell us what would work for you.
Your work will span areas such as:
Administration and governance
Board, leadership, and general meetings: preparation, materials, notices, minutes, and follow-up filings
Subsidiary management across our international entities — annual filings and ongoing administration
Shareholder and option registry upkeep, and option programme communications
Company governance and culture initiatives
HR and people
Employment contracts and documentation
Onboarding new joiners
Performance and engagement cycles
HR policies and people-data administration
Immigration support
Health & safety and occupational healthcare coordination
Finance, accounting, and tax
Invoicing and accounts payable
Payroll, bonuses, and benefits administration — with our payroll agencies in Finland and abroad
Accounting and taxation — with our accounting agencies in Finland and abroad, covering oversight and some hands-on tasks such as accruals, development-cost capitalization, R&D deductions, and providing the information they need
Funding applications — Business Finland grants, loans, and support for investor funding
Reporting
Financial statements and management reporting
Cash flow actuals and forecasting, and profitability analysis
Product and usage metrics, and core KPI packs
Board, statutory, and any other reporting the business needs
Legal and compliance
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer, supplier, and employment agreements
Contract management and storage — keeping the repository in order and tracking obligations, deadlines, and commitments across customer and supplier agreements
Monitoring and applying relevant legislation
Supporting data-protection and GDPR compliance
Operations
The operational side of internal tools and processes, including some IT and IT-security/compliance tasks (e.g. SaaS administration, documentation)
Everyday essentials where needed — office upkeep, procurement, travel arrangements, company events, and the practical things that keep the place running
Cross-functional projects that come up as the company grows
What we hope from you
The essentials:
University-level studies in general business management, business administration, industrial engineering and management, accounting, or another relevant field
Analytical skills — comfortable working with data, with strong Excel skills; R, Python, or similar a plus
Fluency with AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) and automation, and an instinct for using them to keep a broad role scalable
Attention to detail — much of this work runs on accuracy and deadlines
A hands-on attitude — you like getting things done in practice, not just planning or directing
A capacity to learn and to find your way — we don't expect you to master everything, but you should pick things up quickly and know how to track down the right information from the right sources
Genuine interest in working across functions rather than mastering one
Proficiency in English; Finnish is a plus, as we work extensively with Finnish laws, standards, and authorities — other languages help too
Nice to have:
Prior experience or studies in one or more of these areas — finance, accounting, taxation, legal, HR, operations, IT/Information security, or management consulting
Experience at a startup or growth-stage company, ideally one scaling internationally like ours
What we offer
A globally unique product: Contribute to a one-of-a-kind SaaS platform for marketing measurement, used by leading ecommerce and retail brands.
An interdisciplinary, international team: Join colleagues from more than eight nationalities across three countries.
Low hierarchy, high trust: Work in a flat organization where ownership, transparency, and collaboration are part of everyday life. We value initiative and make sure work stays enjoyable along the way.
Flexible, hybrid ways of working: A large share of the team works partly — and sometimes fully — remotely. At the start, working from the office to get up to speed and collaborate is important. Later, office presence may be needed as required — for important meetings or projects that need close collaboration.
Location: Based in Finland is easiest, but relocation can be considered case by case (read more here). Travel is uncommon but may be required in some cases.
Salary: EUR 4,500 (TEK salary recommendations for students; case-by-case consideration for senior hires)
A wide range of benefits: Full paid holidays from the start (five weeks per year, prorated), occupational healthcare through Heltti, a 25% subsidised lunch benefit, phone and subscription, insurance coverage, and home care services for sick children.
Employee stock option programme: Share in the company's long-term success through our stock option programme.
Openness to your needs: If you have specific needs, accommodations, or questions about how we work, just let us know.
How to apply
If this role sounds like the right next step for you, we would like to hear from you.
Please apply as soon as possible, and no later than 9 August 2026.
We review applications on a rolling basis and may begin interviews, or make a hiring decision, before the application deadline if we find the right person. We therefore encourage you not to wait until the deadline to apply.
Due to the volume of applications we usually receive, we may not be able to respond to every applicant individually.
The interview process typically involves a couple of rounds of interviews and a case study — in person where possible — with Antti (Director of Finance & Operations), Lauri (COO), and possibly Juha (CEO).
We look forward to hearing from you!
